The chance of thunderstorms and severe weather is in the forecast for northeastern Oklahoma this week. News On 6 WARN team meteorologist Alan Crone said a strong upper level system moving into the area Wednesday brings the highest chance across Green Country.
Tuesday brought some storms as well, including a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Craig, Kay, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa and Washington counties in Oklahoma until 2 a.m.
Southern Kansas experienced a bit more severe weather than Oklahoma did Tuesday, with a tornado warning issued for Labette and Montgomery counties late Tuesday night.
The chances for scattered storms increase a bit for Wednesday afternoon and evening for Oklahoma.
News On 6 Chief Meteorologist, Travis Meyer said, while there may only be limited storms they have an opportunity to become severe.
Meyer said the chance for storms will continue into Thursday as well.
