The polls are open across Oklahoma Tuesday with a wide variety of issues on the ballot.

Voters in state senate district 11, which covers parts of downtown Tulsa and southeast Osage County, will choose a new senator in a special election Tuesday.

Democrats Kevin Matthews, Heather Nash and Regina Goodwin are vying for the seat left vacant when Jabar Shumate resigned in January.

There are also a number of city council elections Tuesday. Some of the communities on the list include Beggs, Bixby, Broken Arrow, Glenpool, Jenks and Skiatook.

Several school districts are holding bond issue elections Tuesday.

That list includes Pryor Schools in Mayes County; Oklahoma Union and South Coffeyville schools in Nowata County; Bearden Schools and Mason Schools in Okfuskee County, Oologah-Talala Schools in Rogers County and Indianola Schools in Pittsburg County.

And voters in Grove are deciding a 5% hotel tax.

Polls are open until 7 p.m.
