VW Bug Hangs Up On Tulsa I-244 Construction Barrier

A missing barricade left a VW Bug stranded on Interstate 244. Police say there was nothing stopping traffic from driving right into the construction zone near Delaware.

A Bug was left up-ended on the concrete median. The car was heavily damaged.

While our cameras were shooting the wreck, a pickup also drove into the construction zone by mistake and had to back out.

Tulsa Police placed temporary cones to block off the area. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers, who also worked the wreck, asked ODOT to bring out some "road closed" signs as soon as possible.

The driver of the Volkswagen was shaken up but not injured. Police say alcohol was not a factor with that driver or the other pickup driver who also drove into the construction area.
