A World War II era plane returned to the skies over Oklahoma. The C-47 aircraft took off from Bristow's airport Tuesday morning bound for California.

The former military aircraft, named "Round Trip," is part of the famed 301st Squadron based at Travis Air Force base.

It took three years to restore and was used during the war to drop airborne troopers into Normandy on D-Day.

The plane is headed to a company in California which will use it in reenactments and maybe even a few movies.
