An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was airlifted to a Texas hospital after being rear-ended by a truck.

According to OHP Lieutenant John Vincent, Trooper Gary Sanders was writing a warning at a traffic stop around 5:30 Thursday night when a vehicle rear-ended Sanders' car, pushing it into the first vehicle.

Sanders was taken to the Tillman County hospital then airlifted to Wichita Falls. Vincent said he will soon be taken to Fort Worth. The extent of his injuries is unknown, but Vincent said he was in "stable condition."

Another person was taken to the hospital but it's unknown which driver or what their condition is.
