A man working on a van was injured when the vehicle slipped into gear and dragged him, Tulsa police say. It happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 11200 block of East 33rd Place.

Authorities told News On 6 the man was working on the van while it was running when somehow the transmission engaged. It dragged him about a third of a block before crashing into a neighbor's garage.

"It rolled over him and spit him out the back," said Sgt. Stephen Boyes.

Police say the 55-year-old man was conscious and talking. They did not know the extent of his injuries.
