Jenks Public Schools and Tulsa Union Public Schools canceled classes for Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Tulsa Public Schools called off classes Wednesday because of the threat of winter weather.  A number of other schools in the Tulsa area and across eastern Oklahoma have also canceled classes.  The list includes Broken Arrow, Bixby, Catoosa, Muskogee, Owasso and Sand Springs.

Tulsa Public Schools said it made its decision as a precaution, because once students get to school they will not pull them out and risk student safety.

School Closings List

Wednesday's cancellation means three snow days have been used by TPS and they have only two more days left. However, school officials say if they use all five days there are three makeup days in the school calendar.

If they go beyond the makeup days, officials say they could do what happened last school year, where districts had to add extra time each school day to make up for it.
