A 33-year-old Bartlesville man remains free on a $100,000 bond following his arrest on February 20, 2015 for allegedly assaulting and choking his wife during a fight.
According to a court affidavit, Bartlesville Police officers were called to Scott Howie's home on the west side of town about a domestic disturbance.
The victim told officers Howie had assaulted and choked her during a fight the previous evening.
Police said she told them Howie choked her so hard she couldn't breathe before throwing her into the garage knocking over a can of paint. Howie then picked her up by her hair and forced her face into the spilled paint. He then tried to put a wire around her neck but she was able to escape. Officers said she said Howie also threatened to kill her daughter.
Howie was arrested and booked into the Washington County jail. Prosecutors charged Scott Howie Monday with domestic assault and battery by strangulation and threats to kill.
Court records show Howie's next court appearance is set for March 13, 2015.
