Police are looking for a driver who ran away after crashing a Ford pickup truck into the back of a west Tulsa home early Friday.
Officers said the crash happened in the 4900 block of South 24th West Avenue near Union just before 6:30 a.m.
They said it appears the driver missed a curve, crashed through a backyard fence and into the home. Police say a relative told them the homeowner recently passed away and the home was vacant.
Tulsa firefighters had to secure the home before a wrecker was able to pull the pickup truck out of the back of the home.
The homeowners son said he had a vintage 1969 Shelby parked in the garage and took it out before the pickup was pulled from the home."Extremely lucky that nobody was hurt. It hit the garage, barely missed a 1969 Shelby that the owner of the house holds very dear," said Tulsa Police officer Doug Chism.
Police believe the pickup truck was stolen, but they are still checking.
