New Superintendent Visits Tulsa Public Schools

The new superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools toured Disney Elementary Wednesday morning. 

Dr. Deborah Gist visited students and staff at the school on East 25th Street. 

Originally from Tulsa, Dr. Gist was hired by the school board Monday to take over when current superintendent Dr. Keith Ballard retires this summer.

Dr. Gist will also tour Burroughs Elementary School over the noon hour.

She still has to negotiate a contract with TPS and as soon as that happens Dr. Gist will be the first woman to lead Tulsa Public Schools.
