Brushfire Threatens Structures In Kiefer

A large fire threatened homes and other structures in Kiefer Wednesday afternoon. 

Firefighters from Mounds, Kiefer, Liberty, Glenpool and Sapulpa worked to contain the flames, which were burning in brush and woods near 186th Street South and Hickory.

Video from Osage SkyNews 6 HD showed people moving cars out of the path of the fire. Firefighters haven't said what caused the fire.

According to Pilot Will Kavanagh, due to rough terrain firefighters were not able to get to the fire, but were able to protect the nearby homes from the flames.

Kavanagh said the fire is not contained for the most part, but said it burn about 100 acres in less than an hour.
