Certified application counselors will be available in a Health Insurance phone bank Tuesday at News On 6. Many Oklahomans have questions about what they need to do to sign up for insurance through the Affordable Health Care Act.
News On 6 has paired up with the Morton Comprehensive Health Center in Tulsa to answer questions about enrollment and coverage.
The phone bank number is 918-732-6166. Counselors will be available from 4 to 7 p.m.
Callers can learn what kinds of insurance and prices are available to them, including subsidies.
The deadline is February 15, 2015, and there may be penalties if you don't have health insurance this year.
Individuals without insurance coverage may be subject to a penalty of up to 2 percent of your annual household income over the tax filing threshold, or $325 per person, $162.50 per child in a family.
If you can't get through on the phone bank, Morton Health Center counselors will be answering questions and helping enrollees from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. February 6 at All Souls Unitarian Church, 2952 South Peoria Avenue.
