An Adair woman is in critical condition after missing a curve on State Highway 85 near Bernice. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say Erin Rachelle Collins was going too fast for the highway when her Hyundai Santa Fe missed a curve and hit a utility pole.
The 24-year-old Collins was thrown 12 feet from the vehicle when it overturned a complete time, a trooper states in a collision report. She wasn't wearing a seat belt.
Collins was taken by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital with head and internal injuries.
The wreck took place around 1:11 a.m. three miles west of Bernice in Delaware County.
The investigating trooper says the cause of the collision was unsafe speed on a curve. The driver's condition at the time of the wreck is under investigation.
