A Salina man captured dramatic images of a bald eagle near his home this week.
Randy Cox said he and his wife of 35 years have lived in Salina all their lives. Their house sits on the shore of Lake Hudson.
Cox works at the Mid-America Industrial Park and says he and his wife have been watching eagles for years. He said their numbers seemed to have increased over the last five years, and he's thankful for that.
"We love to watch them and are always looking out for them. They are really neat to see when the lake freezes over and they are standing out on the ice," he said.
He said the photos he took are of an eagle that is living somewhere near his house. He saw it sitting in a tree in his yard and as he tried to get closer, the eagle took off. That gave him the opportunity to snap photos of the eagle in flight.
Cox shared his photos with News On 6 by sending the to our share page at pics@newson6.net.
