Former OSU Basketball Player Pleads Guilty To Burglary

Tulsa native and former Oklahoma State basketball player Richard Dumas was sentenced three years of probation after robbing a store located on a military base.

The former Phoenix Suns player reached a plea agreement with prosecutors on Tuesday, in which the 45-year-old agreed to the terms of his probation that he was sentenced to by Judge Sam Myers of Maricopa County Superior Court.

Authorities say Dumas stole about $800 worth of merchandise from the Luke Air Force Base store while he worked with a janitorial service. They stated Dumas was seen on surveillance cameras taking cigarettes, alcohol, food, DVDs, and shoes.

This isn't the first offense for Dumas; in 2013, he was arrested by federal agents on eight felony charges of alleged organized retail theft. Dumas also plead guilty to theft in December of 2011.

Dumas attended Booker T. Washington high school, before attending college at OSU as a student-athlete. He later was drafted to the NBA by the Suns, where he played from 1992-1995.
