A 17-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after a group of victims helped police chase him down..

Sergeant Chris Moudy of the Tulsa Police Department said several young men were at the Super 8 Motel at 11th and Garnett when they were robbed by another group of men. One robber was armed with a gun and another with a screwdriver.

The robbers got away with clothing and some cash, according to police.

The victims told police the robbers got into a sport utility vehicle and drove north on Garnett. The victims followed in another car.

The robbers stopped at a QuikTrip at 215 North Garnett, and the 17-year-old got out of the SUV. That's when the robbers reportedly noticed the victims nearby and drove off, leaving the teenage male behind.

One passenger in the chase car got out to keep an eye on the suspect while the other victims pursued but eventually lost the SUV, police say.

A Tulsa Police officer responded to the QT and chased down the teenage suspect who tried to run, Moudy said.
