A former Kellyville teacher has been sentenced to prison for second degree rape after a consensual relationship with a male student.

Kalyn Darby Thompson was sentenced Monday in Creek County to six years in prison, five of which will be on probation, court records show. She will also pay a $1,500 fine and have to register as a sex offender.

Thompson pleaded guilty on January 7, 2015.

Thompson resigned from her teaching position in the spring of 2014. Creek County detectives said she'd been involved with the student for months and that he'd gone from flunking her English course to getting a 98 percent grade during that time.

The boy's mother reportedly confirmed the relationship and other students took photos of Thompson with him off campus.
