The City of Muskogee has re-opened the Court Street Bridge almost six days after the city's Public Works Department temporarily closed the downtown landmark.
In a news release, city officials said engineers performed an in-depth inspection Monday of where a pickup truck crashed into the structure's main support on January 1, 2015. That inspection turned up no cracks and no signs of damage to the bridge.
Based on the inspector's findings, the bridge was re-opened to traffic at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the current 10-ton weight limit.
Police said a 1988 Chevy pickup was westbound on the bridge when its driver lost control on ice and it struck a steel support beam. The driver wasn't hurt.
