"Fly Tulsa, Vacations Start Here" is what Tulsa International Airport wants every traveler to know as TIA promotes flying locally through a new social media campaign.
The new campaign features a replica of the landmark Tulsa Driller statue located at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds. The airport asks passengers who use TIA to take a photo standing next to the Tulsa Driller, then upload it to social media using #FlyTulsa.
It's one way people can share their travels with friends and family while promoting Tulsa International Airport.
Airport director Jeff Mulder says travelers often overlook TIA, even though there are a lot of reasons to fly into and out of Tulsa.
He says airport is much more convenient than driving to a Dallas airport. Using TIA stimulates the local economy and the airport, which in turn will allow Tulsa International to potentially offer more flights and destinations in the future. And TIA offers a number of non-stop flights to Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Houston and Minneapolis to name a few.
"We have great leisure destinations too, Washington D.C., Orlando, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Phoenix. And were working on more destinations. We think we'll have some more announcements this year." said Jeff Mulder.
He says you can travel to anywhere in the world from Tulsa connecting to one of several of the nation's international hub airports.
