A driver of an SUV was killed in a crash overnight after authorities say she ran a red light. It happened around 10 p.m. Monday, December 29 on 31st Street at the exit from the Broken Arrow Expressway.

The female driver of the SUV crashed into a pickup truck head on. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

She has been identified as 23-year-old Chelsea Murphy.

"We have several independent witnesses who say she ran the red light," said Captain Cathy Reynolds, Tulsa Police.

A traffic investigator at the scene said alcohol may have played a role in the crash. Reynolds said they are awaiting results of blood tests to determine if it was a factor.

EMSA said the driver of the pickup, a 25-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in fair condition.
