The Oklahoma Department of Safety has reported a large fuel spill on the Arkansas Kerr-McClellan navigation channel. The spill is in the Three Forks Area of Muskogee County, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers.
The troopers believe it is a diesel spill, but the source of it has not yet been located. They do not believe it poses a major threat to wildlife.
"The spill appears to be on the surface of the water," a news bulletin states. Troopers used the state's air boat to try to find the source of the spill but were unable to do so.
They handed over the scene to the Environmental Protection Agency Region 6, a follow-up release stated.
