Muskogee EMS says two men rescued from a Muskogee house fire Wednesday morning were taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition.

The Muskogee Fire Department says they got the call about the fire at the corner of East Side Boulevard and Lawrence Street at 8:30 a.m. Muskogee Fire Marshal Ray Bob Daniels said two other men found inside the home were taken to the police department for questioning.

He said it appears those inside the home had been stealing electricity from a neighbor using an extension cord.  Daniels said police had been at the home previously because of theft of electricity from another neighbor.

Daniels says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Names of those injured has not been released.
