The roads might be drying out after Sunday's snow storm, but the winter weather has caused some travel delays all across the country.
Tulsa International Airport has handled a few of those delays, with some passengers seeing delays from a half-hour to two hours. Thankfully, no cancellations.
The arrival and departure boards at Tulsa International Airport showed what a big winter storm can do to flights coming and going across the country.
Kathy Ensor's flight was running 45 minutes behind.
“I expect to fly out tonight, but as long as I fly out tonight it's fine,” Ensor said.
Some flights weren't delayed, but the passengers still were surprised when they touched down in Tulsa. The Resetz family just got off an eight-day cruise and left Miami with 80-degree temperatures.
They didn't expect to be hit with the cold air when they broke through the clouds in Tulsa, and quickly were in need some longer pants.
I'm glad that's all there was and there wasn't 2 or 3 inches,” Resetz said.
He said his son was there for the pickup, but was he bringing some coats?
“No, he better have the car warm,” Resetz said.
Jerry and Denise Dillon were waiting for a big homecoming that started days ago in China. A Broken Arrow woman was due to arrive Sunday night with a newly adopted daughter, but she was delayed on the last leg of the trip coming out of Chicago. In the Dillons' 42 years of facilitating international adoptions, waiting an extra hour or two is worth it for the family, the said.
“They just roll with the punches and make it happen," Deniese Dillon said.
Even a Hall of Fame coach had to wait to get home. He returned to a cold, snowy Tulsa.
