Bands of sleet and snow mixture moved through the Tulsa metro area, leaving some slick spots and numerous wrecks. The winter weather shifted south and east Sunday afternoon.
Drivers are urged to use caution throughout Green Country, especially on raised road surfaces like bridges. Crews were out treating city streets and plows are out on the turnpikes. Hazardous conditions were reported in northern, western and central Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Tulsa-area troopers worked 12 crashes since 6 a.m. Seven of the crashes occurred in Tulsa County. Three of those crashes occurred after 2 p.m.
Operation Slick Streets has been in effect in Tulsa with police responding only to injury wrecks.
Bartlesville, Skiatook and Oologah reported snowfall starting in the 8 a.m. hour. Washington County had snow accumulating on the streets by mid-morning.
Temperatures are in the 20s with wind chills in the teens, so bundle up if you need to go outside.

Snowfall amounts were expected to range from 1 to 2 inches with higher amounts north of Tulsa. Most of that accumulated from about 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the metro area, Crone said.
The National Weather Service has extended a Winter Weather Advisory through midnight for Pittsburg, LeFlore, Latimer and Haskell counties.
The snow moved out of eastern Oklahoma from about 6 p.m. and was hitting the Muskogee and Checotah area. It's the first winter snow expected to affect travel in Oklahoma, especially in the northwestern section of the state.
Impact is likely to be brief in most areas but will create slick spots through Monday, so drive with caution.
