ORU Volleyball Drops Four-Set Match At IUPUI

The ORU volleyball team dropped a four-set conference match on the road at IUPUI on Sunday afternoon.

A late rally for the Oral Roberts University volleyball team fell short Sunday afternoon in a 3-1 road loss at IUPUI in Summit League action.

The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead taking the first set 25-22; however the offense was unable to find its groove in the final three sets. Laura Milos paced ORU for the second straight match with 12 kills, while Lucija Bojanjac posted her third straight double-double with 36 assists and 11 digs.

The Turning Point

After a block from Laura Milos and Shelby Cox, ORU held onto a 6-4 lead in the fourth set. IUPUI would answer going on a 7-0 run that started with a kill from the Jags' Kaitlyn Hickey. The Golden Eagles were unable to recover as they dropped the deciding set, 25-22.

The Leaders

Oral Roberts: Laura Milos led the Golden Eagles with 12 kills. Lucija Bojanjac was solid on both the offensive and defensive sides of the net adding 36 assists and 11 digs to post her third straight double-double and ninth of the season.

IUPUI: Kaitlyn Hickey led the Jags with 20 kills and posted a .425 hitting percentage.

Inside the Box Score

- In addition to her third straight double-double, Lucija Bojanjac is now just 39 assists away from 1,000 on the season and 228 away from entering the ORU single-season top 10 list for assists. (Laura Taylor (10th) posted 1,189 during the 2012 season.)

- After committing just two errors on 22 kills in Friday night's win over South Dakota, Sara Pope hit just .130 while adding 10 kills on Sunday.

- Shelby Cox was solid in the middle adding six blocks to go with her 10 kills for ORU.

News & Notes

- ORU stands at 3-8 on the road this season after Sunday's loss and hold a 5-5 record in The Summit League.

- With a weekend split, ORU also splits the season series with IUPUI and South Dakota with the home team winning each match.

- The Golden Eagles will play four of their final six matches at home including the next four starting Friday against Western Illinois.
