A Tulsa Police chase early Friday ended with the arrest of three men and the seizure of several guns.
The department's organized gang unit made the arrests after a short chase which ended in the 500 block of East 54th Place North just after midnight.
Officers said the gang unit attempted to stop a car for a traffic violation in the 5600 block of North Hartford. When the car finally stopped, three men got out and ran, police said. Officers arrested them after brief chase. Police identify them as Paul George, 28, DeAngelo Borens, 21, and Marquis Grubbs, 21.
Officers said they found one 9-mm and one .40-caliber pistol and what they described as a 9-mm Uzi-style MAC 10 handgun.
Police said they were glad to get these weapons, especially the "Uzi-style" gun off the street.
"I'm excited about it. I'm excited about it. After the homicide yesterday it's great to take guns off the street when they're being improperly used," said Tulsa Police Sergeant Matt McCord.
Police said these arrests are part of an ongoing investigation.
Police booked George, Borens and Grubbs into the Tulsa County jail. Jail records show all three have a court appearance set for October 31, 2014.
