A Tulsa couple accused of child neglect decided to waive their jury trial and plead guilty.

Elizabeth Pester and Mark Knapp will be held without bond until they are sentenced late next month.

Prosecutors said the couple spent most of their time inside their apartment, immersed in an online fantasy world, while severely neglecting their nearly three-year-old daughter.

According to arrest reports, the child was in the hospital in October, 2013 and weighed only 13 pounds.

Pester and Knapp left the hospital a few hours later – while the child was in critical condition - and said they wouldn't return until days later, according to the report. It also says the couple lived just three miles from the hospital.

According to officers, when the parents were arrested, the father asked if they were there because the baby had died. Officer said they told the couple the girl was still alive.

Court records show the couple wasn't spending time with the little girl, and that she was malnourished.
