Overnight storms may be responsible for a house fire in west Tulsa. A neighbor said she saw the house get hit by lightning before it caught fire.

The home is in the 2900 block of West Cameron, near 33rd West Avenue and the Sand Springs Expressway. You can still see the hole in the roof left by the suspected lightning strike.

A neighbor said she called 911 early Monday morning, after a lightning strike caught the house on fire.

"I saw lightning and it hit over there," said Christina Meitzen. "I thought it hit the ground, but I didn't think anything of it. For a second, I walked to QuikTrip and I came back, and this entire road - all three of them were engulfed in white smoke."

Tulsa firefighters said they believe it was lightning that hit the house and started a fire in the garage.

But they say it was pretty much contained to one part of the garage. TFD says no one was home at the time. Neighbors say the homeowners were home Sunday but were gone Monday morning.

The power company shut off power to the home, and firefighters kept the fire from spreading to neighboring houses.
