½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
1 pound ground check
1 package Braum's diner rolls split in half
2-3 Tablespoons mayonnaise
3 onions, sliced
Vegetable oil
Preheat grill to medium high heat. In a skillet over medium heat, saute the onions in vegetable oil until they begin to caramelize. Remove from heat.
In a small bowl combine the onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Make 9 thin patties from the ground chuck. Sprinkle with seasoning mix. Cook until done to your desired temperature. Place a patty on each roll and top with grilled onions. Serve with mayonnaise.
TAILGATING TIP: Pack a plastic lidded box and keep it stocked with tongs, foil, metal serving utensils, paper towels, grill lighter, plastic platter, trash bags and a can opener. You'll be ready for any tailgate.
