One of the charter members of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum celebrated a milestone Sunday.
Virginia Hugo marked her 90th birthday aboard the museum's MD 80 aircraft.
Hugo and her late husband are big supporters of the museum. A plane her husband designed and flew for seven years hangs in the Exhibit Hall.
Hugo, an engineer by training and World War Two veteran, is proud of the strides that women in aerospace have made in her lifetime.
"I was always the only woman in the engineering class, the only woman on the flight line, the only woman qualified to wear wings. So, you know, it was kind of a beginning. So, I am just thrilled with what women do today," she said.
Hugo attended school at Spartan and TU before starting her own business writing computer programs for the petroleum industry.
