The great-niece of Will Rogers was on hand as Rogers County dedicated its new courthouse in downtown Claremore Friday.
Coke Meyers spoke to a crowd gathered on the courthouse plaza. They celebrated the $20-million courthouse voters approved in 2009.
A county judge calls the new building a gem of the community.
"We think enough of what goes on here - our court functions, our county functions - that we believe and invest in it," said Sheila Condren, Rogers County District Court Judge.
The old courthouse was built in the 1930's, and was torn down and replaced with a parking lot.
