Muskogee Police say officers with help from the U.S. Marshals Service arrested two men who police believe robbed a Muskogee bank Friday afternoon.

Police said the robbery occurred at 3:15 p.m. at the Bank of Oklahoma branch in the 200 block of State Street.

Police Cpl. Michael Mahan says Robert Siegrist, 51, of Pueblo, Colorado, entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. After getting the cash, Siegrist ran out of the bank. U.S.. Marshals from their office nearby responded and assisted police in looking for Siegrist.

A short time later, officers along with the marshals located Siegrist in the back parking lot of the police department along with Robert Vetter, 52, of Muskogee and arrested both.  Police believe both men were headed to a homeless shelter nearby.

Cpl. Mahan said police believe both men conspired to rob the bank.  Vetter waited outside while Siegrist went inside.

Both men were booked into the Muskogee County jail on complaints of second-degree robbery.   Police said no one in the bank was injured in the robbery.
