The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a drowning at Walnut Creek State Park on Keystone Lake Monday morning.

Troopers say a 49-year-old man believed to be from the Tulsa area had been fishing with friends at the Old Prue camping area on Saturday. The friends left, but the man stayed on to camp overnight and fish alone.

When the friends returned Sunday morning, they couldn't find him so they reported him missing.

On Monday, a fisherman launching his boat found the body in 2-3 feet of water, OHP Trooper Ryan Griffith said.

Authorities don't know what caused the man to fall into the lake but believe his body drifted from the Old Prue camp site east to the state park. They are not releasing his name until family can be notified.

Walnut Creek State Park is located near Prue in Osage County.
