Some Tulsans with an idea born while driving on the Turner Turnpike six years ago just signed with Dark Horse Productions to produce a comic book called Rexodus.
The story behind Rexodus is that dinosaurs didn't disappear - they moved to space. But one of the creators, Paul Wizikowski, says the comic book is really about family and the relationship between fathers and their children.
There are four comic books initially, but the team is already producing more, he said.
Wizikowski and partners Mark Steele, Kevin Anderson, and Eric Lee will take their creation to the San Diego Comic Con next week, but they had a launch party for Rexodus in Tulsa Saturday.
Their 8-foot tall hero was dressed in a dinosaur suit built entirely in Tulsa by Tulsans, according to a news release.
Wizikowski said Dark Horse Productions is a leading comic book producer, and their agreement with them includes television and film aspects.
