Dip Recipe Sends Broken Arrow Boy To White House

A nine-year-old from Broken Arrow is headed to the White House because of his Smokey Southwestern Vegetable Dip.

A nine-year-old from Broken Arrow is headed to the White House because of his Smokey Southwestern Vegetable Dip. Ranger Lemaster, and his mom will represent Oklahoma at the White House Kids State Dinner.

Ranger entered the dip in the third annual Healthy Lunchtime Challenge.

Smoky Southwestern Vegetable Dip Recipe

"They had 1,500 submissions total. They selected two or three from each state as finalists," said Ranger's mom Ashley.

The White House kitchen staff prepared all the recipes for a panel of judges and they selected the winners.

The big State Dinner is July 18th at the White House. Ranger said if he sees the president he'll ask him if he has any ponds where he can fish.
