Tulsa Police invite the public to a downtown safety seminar Wednesday, July 2. It will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at Tulsa Police Department headquarters, 600 Civic Center.

Personal safety issues and crime statistics will be two items on the agenda, according to Officer Demita Kinard with the TPD Community Education.

"It is open to anyone interested in safety in the downtown area," Kinard said.

Tulsa Police held a news conference Monday addressing some of personal safety issues in light of the recent series of sexual assaults, encouraging citizens to be on alert for suspicious behavior.

"It's a good possibility that vigilance by the public is what's going to end up turning this guy for us," Chief Chuck Jordan in a news conference Monday.

Parking will be available at the meters and in the parking garage north of the building.
