A Tulsa mother of two will run the equivalent of four marathons in four days in hopes of bringing clean water to women and children in Africa.
Katie Russell started "Katie Runs 4 Water" at 6 a.m. Monday at the Oral Roberts University Mabee Center in Tulsa.
She will run 105.6 miles of Route 66 from Tulsa to Oklahoma City over the next four days. Her run will end Thursday at the Love's Travel Stop on North I-35 in Oklahoma City.
Katie will pass through Sapulpa, Bristow, Stroud and Chandler on Route 66.
Russell's goal is to raise $40,000 to bring clean water to the remote regions of Africa.
