The Catoosa Fire Chief says the state fire marshal has been called in to investigate a house fire in the 1300 block of North 151st East Avenue. Firefighters were called to the scene at about 2:45 a.m.

Chief Denus Benton said the fire started in the living room with no gas or electric near. Firefighters also saw some things inside the house that led them to take the precaution of calling the fire suspicious, he said.

The fire reached the attic of the home and took crews about 30 minutes to get completely under control, he said.

The renter who lives in the house is in the process of moving out and was not home when crews arrived.

"He came home to the house on fire," Benton said.

No one was injured. Rolling Hills and Oak Grove Fire Departments provided mutual aid to CFD.
