Assistant District Attorney Mike Loeffler told News On 6 jailers found Ernst's body in a shower area of the jail before 6 a.m. He said Ernst used a piece of cloth to hang himself.

The OSBI was called in to investigate although no foul play is expected. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy.
