Two people were shot in an officer-involved shooting near Spavinaw.

Mayes County Sheriff's Deputies said a jeep from Missouri drove through North 447 Road near Spavinaw around 4:30 Monday afternoon, when they said a man in the passenger seat shot the woman driving in the shoulder.

Deputies said people living in a nearby home heard the commotion, called 911 and ran outside to help the woman.

Once a Spavinaw officer arrived on scene, he said the shooter began acting crazy, running around the street threatening him.

Deputies said the officer fired two shots hitting the man. Both the woman and the man from the jeep are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

We do not know the relationship between the man and the woman.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating because it is an officer-involved shooting.
