A public meeting will be held in Skiatook Friday night to discuss a sales tax proposal to expand youth sports facilities.

On June 24th voters will decide on a five year, half cent sales tax increase.

It would generate money for improvements to Skiatook's Youth Sports Complex, things like paving roads, better concessions, improved lighting and more fields.

One mom said the improvements are needed.

"As far as tournaments and our youth athletics go, we have to grow with the city as it grows, in order to keep up with the bigger cities that are surrounding us," Kristen Morgan said.

The public meeting will be Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church West Oak campus.
