University of Tulsa Head Football Coach Bill Blankenship announced today that sophomore defensive back Darnell Walker Jr. has been dismissed from the roster citing actions unbecoming of the standards set forth for a Golden Hurricane football player.

"We have high standards from an academic, athletic and social standpoint that we expect our football student-athletes to uphold in representing our football program and The University of Tulsa. This is unfortunate, but is in the best interest of our football team," said Blankenship.

Walker, a 5'11" cornerback from Bolivar, Mo., played in 11 games and started eight contests in the 2013 season as a red-shirt freshman. He had seven starts at cornerback and started one game at safety for the Hurricane. Walker totaled 52 tackles, had eight pass break-ups and four interceptions.
