Tulsa Police and ambulance crews were called to the 1500 block of North Xanthus after reports of a car hitting a bicycle.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene just after 7 a.m.

Police say a man was riding home from work and was sideswiped by a car. The car hit part of the bicycle, making the rider lose control.

They say it was a 31-year-old man returning home from work at the McDonald's at Pine and Peoria.

The man sustained a sore shoulder and some abrasions in the wreck. He was taken to a hospital as a precaution but is expected to be OK, police say.

The injured cyclist road home before calling for help, so police did not talk to the driver of the car. No one was cited.
