Michael David Slatton has been charged in a kidnapping that sparked a Tulsa Amber Alert earlier this month. Slatton, 33, is in the Tulsa County Jail after an 8-year-old girl was taken from a playground at the Willowbend Apartments May 4.
He has been charged with kidnapping, first degree rape of a victim under age 14, child abuse by injury and assault and battery on a police officer. All are after former conviction of a felony. Slatton was convicted of sexual battery, among other crimes, in 2005 and is a registered sex offender.
Child crisis detectives say they recovered a number of items after serving search warrants on Slatton's car and his home in the 9200 block of Apple Lane in Claremore.
