Michael David Slatton has been charged in a kidnapping that sparked a Tulsa Amber Alert earlier this month. Slatton, 33, is in the Tulsa County Jail after an 8-year-old girl was taken from a playground at the Willowbend Apartments May 4.

He has been charged with kidnapping, first degree rape of a victim under age 14, child abuse by injury and assault and battery on a police officer. All are after former conviction of a felony. Slatton was convicted of sexual battery, among other crimes, in 2005 and is a registered sex offender.

Child crisis detectives say they recovered a number of items after serving search warrants on Slatton's car and his home in the 9200 block of Apple Lane in Claremore.

One witness said he was wearing latex gloves when he approached her and asked if she had children.

Police say evidence taken from his home included a bucket list. One of the items on the list was reportedly: don't go to prison again.
