The city of Elk City is being awarded $1 million for infrastructure needs in the city's industrial park.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker says the Department's Economic Development Administration is awarding the funding to help pay for projects that include a rail spur and switches, water and wastewater systems and road improvements.

The funding is expected to create up to 100 jobs.

Elk City began developing a 162-acre industrial park in 2005 and in 2013 the city purchased an additional 130 acres to expand the park.
