Osage County DA To Seek Death Penalty For Skiatook Man

The Osage County District Attorney Office has filed a ‘Bill of Particulars' seeking the death penalty against a Skiatook teen charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of his great grandmother and sister.

In their filing, prosecutors state Michael Devin Stanley's act of murder "was especially heinous, atrocious and cruel involving mental and/or physical torture." They further state the "murder was committed for the purpose of avoiding or preventing a lawful arrest or prosecution."

Documents say Stanley killed Esther Driskell, 74, because he didn't want to do the dishes, and he later killed his sister, Larisa Fraley, 16, who was home during the first murder.

Driskell's body was found in her Skiatook home on January 28. Fraley was found dead in a van parked on a rural road in Osage County the next day.

After his arrest, Stanley, who turned 20 in March, reportedly confessed to the two homicides during questioning at the Osage County jail.

Stanley remains in the Osage County jail in Pawhuska.
