Tulsa police say a man they have had contact with before tried to break into an abandoned church. It happened at about 11:30 p.m. Monday at 11th and Louisville.

The suspect damaged an entry door to the church, officers say. He has been identified as Zaki Holder, 34.

A K-9 officer was sent into the church to apprehend Holder, and the dog bit him on the left leg, an arrest report states. Holder man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

"He is well known to us as being a homeless individual and appeared to be intoxicated," an officer said at the scene.

Police booked Holder into jail on a breaking and entering complaint.
