Tulsa Sports Commission, a division of the Tulsa Regional Chamber, will host the 2014 Tulsa Lexus Cup on April 12-13 at the Mohawk Soccer Complex.
The Tulsa Lexus Cup is the state's largest youth soccer tournament. Three-hundred-forty teams from around the United States will attend, as well as parents, spectators, coaches and administrators.
"Tulsa Sports Commission is honored to partner with Tulsa Soccer Club on the 2014 Tulsa Lexus Cup," said Vince Trinidad, executive director of the Tulsa Sports Commission. "We are working diligently to book events at the City of Tulsa's Mohawk Soccer Complex and this is one of many to make their way to Tulsa this spring."
In addition to the Tulsa Lexus Cup, Mohawk Soccer Complex, marketed by Tulsa Sports Commission, is partnering on several large scale events coming to Tulsa throughout 2014; specifically three coming up within the next couple of months.
The Blitz United Spring Classic will take place April 25-27 and in partnership with Tulsa Ultimate Federation the complex welcomes USA Ultimate Collegiate South Central Regional, May 3-4.
For the Tulsa Lexus Cup alone, nearly 5,000 hotels have been booked at more than 50 hotels in the area, creating a significant economic impact. Tulsa Soccer Club estimates the economic impact on the event to exceed $2.6 million in direct spending from out of town visitors on the Tulsa region.
Efforts are currently underway to continue improving the facility for future events. Renovations include stadium-style seating and fencing. Projected completion date is prior to the US Youth Soccer National Championships in 2015.
