The Tulsa Shock have re-signed center Courtney Paris to a one-year contract. it was announced on Friday.
In 2013, Paris signed with the Shock as a free agent on June 22 during the season. Paris appeared in 23 games for the Shock in 2013, averaging 3.8 points per game, shooting 46.1 percent from the field and grabbing 4.1 rebounds per game.
"I'm excited to stay in Tulsa," said Courtney Paris, Tulsa Shock Center. "I want to thank Coach Williams and the Shock organization for the opportunity to continue to play in Tulsa."
"Courtney is an excellent player, who is a student of the game," said Fred Williams, Head Coach of the Tulsa Shock. "She has been in Tulsa a couple of years and has been a key player on and off the court for our team. She's a proven winner and has a skill set that elevates her level of play. We're happy to have her back in Tulsa."
While attending the University of Oklahoma, Paris established 20 NCAA Division I records, including career rebounds (2,034) and career double-doubles (128). Paris finished her college career averaging 19.9 points per game, 14.8 rebounds per game and 3.3 blocks per game for the Sooners. In 2009, Paris was selected 7th overall by the Sacramento Monarchs in the 2009 WNBA Draft.
