Troopers say a Barnsdall woman was injured when the driver of a motorcycle she was riding on popped a wheelie.

It happened Thursday afternoon on State Highway 123 near County Road 2400. That's just north of Barnsdall in Osage County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that 29-year-old Daniel J. Owens of Barnsdall was southbound on the highway on a 2004 Yamaha when he "accelerated at a high rate of speed in attempt to ride a wheelie."

"The driver and passenger both became separated and came to rest in the roadway," a trooper said in a collision report.

Passenger Tiffany Winter, 25, had arm and leg injuries in the wreck. She was taken to a Tulsa hospital where she is said to be stable.

Owens was not injured. The investigating trooper says Owens smelled of alcohol.
